Post World War II : United States.
After the Japanese had surrendered, World War II had finally concluded. Peace was restored, people paraded the streets celebrating and cheering for the war heros. Unfortunatly a new problem would soon arise, the Soviet Union promptly set plans to spread communism around to other countries (especially the ones weakened from the war), but the United States preffered to contain it within the countries where it already existed.
Post-war Baby Boom.
After the soldiers had come home from the war, hopes were high, economy was stable, and many were filled with pride. This was the perfect circumstance to create a family. Through the years 1946 and 1964, there was population expansion that resulted in a 19 million increase. This expansion was also known as the "Baby Boom." Historians believe that this growth was due to the desire for normalcy after war. Unfortunatly, this baby boom is expected to cause economic problems for programs like Social Security, 401(k), and Pension checks. The graph below depicts the population increase.
For this era, using an online book creator called, "Mixbook.com" we were to create a book about Post-World War United States. Within the book we cover the three topics: The Cold War, Domestic Policy, and The Civil Rights Movement.
